About Us » Strategic Plan
The GPA EDC Strategic Plan is the roadmap for economic development in the Greater Peterborough Area. The 2010-14 plan is the product of 18 months of work by the GPA EDC Board of Directors that includes extensive consultation with the residents and business people of the Peterborough region.
The plan states that the GPA EDC will continue to pursue its corporate mission of creating wealth and jobs in line with the GPA 2020: A Vision for Our Future. In doing so it will concentrate on activities which both increase the standard of living and improve the quality of life of our residents.
In adopting the plan, the Board of Directors has established a number of guiding principals including sustainability, inclusiveness, innovativeness and differentiation. Measures contained in the plan have been designed to adhere to the vision, mission, values and economic environment in the Greater Peterborough Area.
The GPA EDC will organize its efforts around four key business lines; agriculture & rural development, manufacturing & small business, tourism and innovation. The corporate structure has been reorganized to better align with this new strategic direction and to provide a framework conducive to success in the current business environment.
