The Peterborough Municipal Airport
The Peterborough Airport, located in Cavan Monaghan Township on the southwest edge of the City of Peterborough, is owned and operated by the City of Peterborough and is one of the community’s most important economic assets. The City of Peterborough is committed to increase activity and job growth at the airport site by investing significantly in the future of the Peterborough Airport and the aerospace business park. Major infrastructure improvements, including a new terminal and airside serviced land provide opportunities for future growth.
In 2008 the City of Peterborough committed $7.38 million to develop the infrastructure of the airport to accommodate aerospace and aviation business expansions - and to pave the way for new businesses to locate to the region. In early 2009 the City approved a $37 million expansion plan that includes extending the runway to 7000 feet to further support new economic growth opportunities in this important business sector.
