GPA EDC ANNOUNCES BOARD CHAIR FOR 2010
[PETERBOROUGH] The Greater Peterborough Area Economic Development Corporation (GPA EDC) has elected a new Chair for 2010. Laurianne Gruzas, Vice-President, Commercial Credit, Kawartha Credit Union will step into the volunteer position for the term running from January till December 2010. David Fell currently holds the post.
"I look forward to working with Andy Mitchell and the GPA EDC Board of Directors in this capacity." stated Laurianne Gruzas, newly appointed 2010 Chair of the GPA EDC Board. "The GPA EDC will be operating under a new 5-year Strategic Plan in 2010 and I am excited about the possibilities for the corporation and economic development in the Peterborough region."
“This is a position that is both challenging and rewarding and I feel that Laurianne is ideally suited to take on the task.” said David Fell “Laurianne has both the knowledge base and experience to be a success and I look forward to continuing to work with her and the entire GPA EDC board next year.”
In the past, the GPA EDC Board Chair has been elected at the January Annual General Meeting. Recently the procedure has been modified to select the Chair mid-year to allow the individual to become familiar with the responsibilities of the position.
