Summer Company is a youth program provided by the Ministry of Economic Development & Trade (MEDT).  The program provides students aged 15 to 29 with mentoring and start-up funding to start and operate their own business over the duration of the summer. The Business Advisory Centre is the program provider for the Peterborough region and is one of 57 Small Business Enterprise Centres across the province providing this program for Ontario's youth. We are pleased to have 16 students participating in our region this summer.

To be accepted into the program, students submit a business plan, attend an interview, and meet eligibility requirements of the program.  Upon their application being recommended by the Business Advisory Centre and approved by the ministry, they receive hands-on business training and funding towards the start-up costs of the business.  Each student is assigned a volunteer mentor from the business community.  Visit www.businessadvisorycentre.ca for further information.
